Helen R. Jeffries (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Helen Ruth Jeffries, daughter of Arthur and Helen Bruckner Willie, was born June 30, 1927, in St. Louis, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Richland Care Center, in Richland, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, eleven months, and sixteen days.
On April 1, 1978, she was united in marriage to Elbert Junior Jeffries, and they shared thirty years before his passing on March 17, 2008.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, MacKenzie.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Drake, of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Barbara Wallraven, and her husband, Mark, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a son, Mark Harston, and his wife, Ann, of Richland, Missouri; five grandchildren, Sara, David, Brion, Corum, and Brayden; three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Daisy, and Grace; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in St. Louis and Farmington, Missouri, and graduated from Farmington High School. During her high school years, she was a cheerleader and was very popular. She then made her home in Salem, Missouri until 1978. After she and JR were married, they made their home in Laquey, Missouri until moving to Lebanon in 1981. Throughout the years, Helen was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
She was a longtime active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, canning, and doing counted cross stitching. She was a very special person with a unique personality. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
