Helen Scroggins (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Helen Harris Scroggins age 94 of Buffalo, MO and formally a long time Bolivar resident passed away Tuesday evening, May 13, 2014 at Colonial Springs Healthcare in Buffalo, MO.
Helen was born May 14, 1919 in Polk County, Missouri the daughter of Inez (Redd) Harris and Charlie Harris.
On April 9, 1938 Helen married Woodrow Scroggins and to this union two children were born; Dale and Beverly. Helen and Woodrow lived on the family farm all their married life. They were happily married for 71 years until his passing in 2009.
Helen enjoyed gardening and raising flowers. As well as working at her sister Lina’s restaurant, The Main Street Café in Bolivar and at Barnes Walnut Shelling Plant in Bolivar.
She is survived by her two children, Dale Scroggins of Bolivar, MO and Beverly Rovenstine of Bolivar, MO. Three grandchildren, Ted Rovenstine and wife Stephanie of Bolivar, MO; Zella Simpson and husband Billy of Aldrich, MO; and Chuck Rovenstine and wife Sara of Halfway, MO. Eight great grandchildren, Devon Rovenstine, Justin Rovenstine, Jarrett Rovenstine, Hallie Jo Rovenstine, Shelia Simpson, Dahlia Simpson, Lexis Simpson, and Bella Simpson. Four neices, Barbara Glendenning, Neta Jenkins, Johnnie Bays and Connie Good.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Scroggins, two brothers Oby Harris and Del Harris, one sister Lina Serls, three nephews R.J. Serls, Charles Serls, and Terry Alley.
She will be missed by family and friends.
