He returned home to Montana and began his truck driving career, which has always held a special place in his heart. He later moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for a number of years. It was while living in East Moline, Illinois, he met and married Carol. They relocated to Montana for a while and in 1988 moved to Hartville. In 1989 they bought the farm and began raising bottle calves, and operating their dog kennel.
Herman cared for his family deeply and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Over the years visiting with friends over a cup of coffee at local cafes gave him great pleasure. In his spare time he enjoyed western movies, reading and going fishing.
Herman was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, and was a kind and caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
