Homer Guy Owens (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Homer Guy Owens, son of the late Claude and Nancy Ellen (Wallace) Owens, was born on October 12, 1935 in Dallas County, MO and departed this life on August 12, 2025 at his home near Elkland, MO. At the time of his passing he was 89 years and ten months of age. Homer was raised in Dallas County and graduated from Buffalo High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958-1960. After his service, he worked for Marshfield Steel, Springfield Trailer and Prime as a welder. He was united in marriage to Beverly Weeks on May 23, 1958 and to this union four daughters were born, all of whom survive him. Homer was saved and baptized in 1964 and was a faithful member of the March Assembly of God Church. He loved to spend time outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or just working in the woods. He also enjoyed playing music and singing specials in Church with Beverly. Homer was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Harold Owens, Gale Owens and infant brother, Howard Owens. He is survived by his wife Beverly of the home; four daughters, Bonita Hinckley, Lisa & husband Terry Dowell, Tammie Dowell, and Cory & husband Dewey Mincey; ten grandchildren, Adam Aaron, and Austin Hinckley, Holly Hope, and Hannah Dowell, Lucas & wife Maraquel Dowell, John Mincey, Jody & husband Shelby Cox, and Jayne Mincey; four great-grandchildren, Jayden Yarnall, Mirrajean and Malucai Dowell, and Carter Wayne Cox; and one sister, Racine Bullington. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Macedonia Cemetery with Bro. Joe Robbilard officiating.
