Howard Lee Harris (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Howard Lee Harris was born in Goodson, MO on November 9, 1941 to Ray E. and Neva (Tharp) Harris. He passed away February 7, 2025 at Citizens Memorial Health Care Facility in Bolivar, MO.
Howard completed 8th grade at Bolivar schools around 1955 and never married. He was employed at Teters Floral Products in Bolivar. Later he joined the City of Bolivar Street Department and retired around 2004.
He gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized around 2001 and was a member of Louisburg First Baptist Church in Louisburg, Mo until his death.
Howard enjoyed car races, which he attended each week during the race season. He also enjoyed rebuilding classic cars and had his 1957 Ford, 1964 Chevy and 1998 Chevy truck.
He developed cancer which he beat and became cancer free. Then in 2015, he had a stroke which affected some of the things that he enjoyed but it did not keep him down.
Howard is survived by his sister, Dorothy (Bill) Campbell; brother, Virgil (Darcus) Harris; around 20 nieces and nephews and cousins galore.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 3 brothers, Melvin, Willard and Dee, who at the age of 21 was killed in the Korean Conflict in 1951; 3 sisters, Wilma Blanton, Willa Lemmon and Vera Lockhart; 4 brothers-in-law, Morris Blanton, Curtis Lockhart and Wayne Lockhart and Glen Lemmon and 1 sister-in-law, Ollie Harris.
Visitation will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, February 15, 2025 with funeral services at 11:00 AM in Butler Funeral Home, Bolivar. Burial will follow at Star Ridge Cemetery, Polk, MO.
