Ida McKelvey (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ida Ann McKelvey, daughter of George Washington and Bessie Fay Appleberry Perry, was born September 29, 1928, near Lebanon, Missouri.  She departed this life Sunday, September 11, 2016, in her home, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, eleven months, and twelve days.
Early in her life she was united in marriage to Johnnie Rogers, and to this union twelve children were born.
On January 4, 1969, she was married to Russell Aubrey McKelvey, and they shared thirty-seven years before his passing on February 25, 2006.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnnie Rogers; a daughter, Donna K. Appleberry; three sons, Roy, Ricky, and Jackie Rogers; three brothers, Ethan, Bob, and Jessie; and two sisters, Bessie and Ila.
Ida is survived by six daughters, Alma Allen, and her husband, Jerry, of Strafford, Missouri, Ima Lillard, and her husband, Stanley, of Nixa, Missouri, Glenda McBride, and her husband, Ernie, of Conway, Missouri, Vicky Supernaw, and her husband, Bobby, of Kansas City, Missouri, Rebecca Holiman, and her husband, Phil, of Buffalo, Missouri, and Cindy Hicks, and her husband, Wes Hughes, of Independence, Missouri; three sons, Billey Rogers, Sr., Russell McKelvey, Jr., both of Lebanon, Missouri, and Joseph Rogers, and his wife, Libby, of Independence, Missouri; two daughters-in-law, Beverly Rogers, of Niangua, Missouri, and Barbara Rogers, of Warsaw, Missouri; thirty-four grandchildren; fifty-five great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Patty Dismang, and her husband, Sammy, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area.  She then made her home in Kansas City, Missouri, for thirty-two years, where she worked for Neville’s Luggage for several years.  Throughout her life, she was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family.  She later made her home in Springfield, Missouri for several years, and then spent the last few years in Kansas City with her daughter.
Ida was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri, and enjoyed the fellowship of the church members..
She liked to sing and dance.  She was always full of energy, loved to shop, go to McDonald’s and drink coffee.  She was a stylish dresser and had a fondness for things that sparkle and shine.  Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed having spending time with her grandchildren.
Ida was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend.  We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-seven years.
