Ida Roberts (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ida Bell Roberts, daughter of Ora and Rosa Noah Roberts, was born January 31, 1928, in Bertrand, Nebraska. She departed this life Tuesday, November 13, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, nine months, and twelve days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Earl, Raymond, Thomas, and Melvin; and a sister, Dorothy Mae.
Ida is survived by a sister, Freda Hipple, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Nebraska, and then moved with her family to Orla, Missouri, in 1937. She attended Hazel Dell School through eighth grade, and graduated from Lebanon High School after the family moved closer to Lebanon. Ida worked at the Laclede County Health Department for seven years, before going to Jefferson City where she took X-ray training. She worked at the Presnell Hospital in Kennett, Missouri, as an X-ray technician for several years. For the next few years, she was at Clinton-Sherman Air Force Base in Oklahoma and then transferred to the Air Force base in Blytheville, Arkansas, where she worked for twenty-four years. After retiring, she moved back to Lebanon and sold Avon for the next several years, officially retiring in 2010.
Ida had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Lebanon, where she sang in the choir. She was a devout Christian and a firm believer in God and His love for her.
In her spare time she enjoyed fishing and liked spending time with her nieces and nephews. She possessed a delightful sense of humor and was quite a kidder. She was always coming up behind someone and pestering them and then acting totally innocent when they would look at her.
Ida was a loving sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
