Imogene Nivens (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Imogene Nivens, daughter of Charles E. and Florence Gertrude Newell Durham, was born June 14, 1935, near Crocker, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, May 21, 2020, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, eleven months, and seven days.
On September 30, 1960, she was united in marriage to Bob Wilson, and they shared thirty-four years before his passing on January 27, 1994.
On June 7, 1997, she married Harvey Nivens, and he passed away on June 12, 2002.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joe Henson; two brothers, Cecil and Jim; and two sisters, Edith and Mildred.
Imogene is survived by two daughters, Anna Ellzey, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Vicky Henson, of the State of Texas; a son, Tom Wilson, and his wife, Faye, of Falcon, Missouri; a step-son, Tim Nivens, and his wife, Debbie, of Fair Grove, Missouri; three granddaughters, Amanda Tucker, and her fiancé, Frank Bryson, of Falcon, Missouri, Becky Porter, and her husband, Paul, and Latoya Crow, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a grandson, Tyler Ellzey, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Stanley Durham, of Richland, Missouri; two sisters, Sue Durham, of Crocker, Missouri, and Dola Durham, of Brumley, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Crossroads community, near Lebanon. She then continued to live in the Lebanon area for most of her life. She was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family and also worked as a maid for various motels including Shepherd Hills Motel for a number of years.
Imogene had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
In her spare time she enjoyed growing beautiful flowers and working puzzles. She was a very kind and loving woman and especially enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren.
Imogene was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
