Trent, Aileen LaRue Sally, 77 Aileen LaRue Trent, daughter of Eldridge Yeary and Lottie Foster Fields, was born July 19, 1928, in Alex, Oklahoma. She departed this life Friday, January 27, 2006, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, six months, and eight days. On February 27, 1954, in Las Vegas, Nevada, she was united in marriage to Aubrey Cecil Trent, who passed away on December 9, 2002. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Raymond Thornton; two brothers, Jack and Lyle Fields; and a sister, Corkey DeGuire. “Sally”, as she was called by her family and friends, is survived by a daughter, Nancy Trent, of San Diego, California; three sons, William J. Thornton, and his wife, Carolyn, of Willard, Missouri, George Curtis Trent, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Lyle David Trent, of Atlanta, Georgia; a grandson, Steven J. Thornton, and his wife, Angie, of Willard, Missouri; two granddaughters, Lori Ann Duncan, and her husband, Michael, II, of Willard, Missouri, and Lisa Samerdyke, and her husband, Matt, of Dana Point, California; two great-grandsons, Wesley Thornton, and Michael Duncan, III; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Samerdyke; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Oklahoma, and then moved with her family to California in 1939. In 1944, she made her home in Los Angeles, and married Raymond Thornton, who was killed in the Korean War. After she and Aubrey were married in 1954, they moved to Phillipsburg, Missouri, and made their home. Throughout the years, Sally was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. Sally had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Phillipsburg Christian Church. She was a fifty-year member of the Quilting Club and had made many beautiful quilts. She possessed a delightful sense of humor, and a feisty disposition and spirit, along with a heart of gold. She was always willing to help anyone, at any time. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Sally was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2006, in the Graceland Cemetery, Conway, Missouri. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
