Irene Cheshire (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Irene Cheshire, daughter of Fredrick Alonzo and Amy Christine Franks Alexander, was born August 8, 1913, in Iberia, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, September 2, 2012, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-nine years, and twenty-four days.
In 1929, she was united in marriage to Calvin Sage.
Later in her life, she married Charley Cheshire, and he preceded her in death in the 1960’s.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Irene is survived by a daughter, Katie Faulk, of St. Louis, Missouri; several step-children; her church family; and many friends.
She was raised in the Aurora, Missouri community, and then made her home in Springfield for several years. After moving to Lebanon, she worked at the Rice Stix Factory, and as a cook at a local restaurant. She also was a nurses’ aide at the Wallace Hospital for a few years.
Irene was a longtime active member of Grace Calvary Church, where she considered the members as part of her family. She had also been a preacher in the Pentecostal faith.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, squirrel hunting, and was especially fond of cats and dogs.
Irene was a lady who possessed a tremendous amount of love for others and a deep devotion to her Lord and Savior. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
