Irene Fay Brixey (Hartville)'s Obituary
Irene Fay Brixey was born on July 19, 1934 to Edwin H. and Osa Faye (Young) Fisher at Hartville, Missouri and departed this life on February 27, 2021 at eighty-six years, seven months and eight days of age.
Irene was born and raised at Hartville, Missouri, where she graduated high school in 1952. She then went on to attend SBU. Irene worked for the Extension Office until adopting her two daughters; she then went on to work at the Wright County Health Department.
On June 29, 1960 she was United in marriage to Delmar Brixey and together they shared 57 years before he preceded her in death November 17, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her oldest daughter Jennifer Brixey who passed July 19, 2019.
Survivors include her daughter, Melinda “Mindii” Atteberry and her husband Scott of O’Fallon, Missouri, three grandchildren; Christopher, Benjamin and Hailey, a sister, Geneva Young of Anderson, South Carolina, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Irene was a member of Little Creek Baptist Church at Hartville, Missouri. She loved quilting, gardening, cooking, and was an avid animal lover.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We celebrate her wonderful life and will cherish the many happy memories she created.
