Irene Sweeten's Obituary
Irene J. Sweeten, daughter of Claude A. and Clara S. Timmig McClure, was born February 25, 1910, in Los Angeles, California. She departed this life Wednesday, January 4, 2006, from injuries received in an automobile accident in Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of ninety-five years, ten months, and ten days. On August 7, 1974, in Miami, Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to Ernest J. Sweeten, who passed away on July 18, 1991. Her parents also preceded her in death. Irene is survived by a valued friend, Debbie McCain, of Linn Creek, Missouri; as well as a host of other loved ones and friends. She worked as an accountant for the insurance industry for forty years, and then moved from Kansas City, Missouri to the Lake of the Ozarks area in 1975. Irene had attended the Camdenton United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Harmony Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in Kansas City, Missouri. She was an active volunteer at the Lamb House, the Dogwood Animal Shelter Thrift Shop, and the Camdenton Senior Citizens Center. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting elephant figurines, shopping at the local thrift stores, and was an avid reader. Irene will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and friends. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the memories she created for all those that knew and loved her. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2006, in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
