Isaac "Ike" Hart's Obituary
Isaac V. “Ike” Hart, son of Harve Lee and Lena (Austin) Hart, was born October 3, 1916, on the family farm, east of Hartville. He departed this life Friday, March 5, 2010, in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, at the age of ninety-three years, five months and two days.
On April 8, 1938, he was united in marriage to Fredia V. Weaver and they shared fifty-two years until her passing on September 3, 1990. He was also preceded in death by his two sons, Russell and Herman “Pete” Hart; his parents; three brothers, Archie, Earlie, and Aaron at a very young age; two sisters, Iva Carr Poppino and Mary Browitt; a half-brother, Ed Hart; a half-sister, Bessie Hart; and Fredia’s brother, Bob Weaver, who came to live with them at the age of four after his mother passed away and was treated like a son.
“Ike” is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Mike Allison, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Russell Allison and his wife, Robbie, of Norman, Oklahoma, and Ronnie Allison, of Austin, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Robert and Kyle Allison, both of Norman, Oklahoma, and Reese Allison, of Charleston, South Carolina; a number of nieces and nephews; Russell Kelley, of Hartville, Missouri, who “Ike” and Fredia took into their home when he was ten and he lived with them until he was fifteen. Russell has been a very special person to “Ike” over the years. Also a host of other relatives and friends.
Born only a quarter of a mile from his own farm, “Ike” attended the Evening Shade School. He later met and married Fredia, and they made their home on the family farm where he has resided throughout the years. He centered his life around his family and operating his dairy business. Working on the farm was a joy for him.
“Ike” had professed his faith in Jesus Christ, and attended the Hartville Free Will Baptist Church for over thirty-five years. He was also a member of the Hartville Saddle Club where especially enjoyed the Tennessee Walking Horses. He enjoyed sports and in earlier years played on the Hartville Baseball Team. In his spare time he liked to go fishing and quail hunting, and trail riding his horses. He collected pocket knives and never wanted to be without one. Even in his later years, he would use his negotiating skills to purchase a pocket knife.
“Ike” was a loving husband, devoted father, enduring grandfather and great-grandfather, and was a trusted neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed but will live in our hearts forever.
