Iva Pinkston (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Iva Mae Pinkston of Lebanon, Missouri was born September 18, 1954 in Calico Rock, Arkansas to Griffie Acklin and Dovie Crawford Acklin. At the time of her passing she was sixty-eight years, four months and twenty-four days.
Iva was raised in Arkansas and married Charles Pinkson on July 27, 1974. They moved to Yates City, Kansas in 1978 where Iva worked as a nurse’s aid. The couple stayed busy, as together they raised eight children.
In the late 1980’s, the family moved to Lebanon, Missouri and Iva worked at H.D. Lee for a while. She was also a member of Union Mission Church.
Iva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Pinkston in 2016; her children, Stacy Wilson, Travis Spence and James Larger; a grandson, Lane Wilson; and several siblings.
She is survived by five children, Janet Gregory and her fiancé, Calvin Sorrells, Sr. of Lebanon, Missouri, Kindle Pinkston and his wife, Holly of Stoutland, Missouri, Paul Pinkston and his wife, Jennifer, Dovie Pinkston and David Larger and his fiancé Stephanie Karns, all of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Brooklyn Gregory, Tony Gould, Nora Pinkston, Lilly Pinkston, Tristian Wilson, Braylee Wilson and Christian Hall; her siblings, Francis Moody of Lebanon, Missouri and Gary Acklin of Arkansas; and a number of great-nieces, nephews and friends.
Iva was a very giving and caring person. She opened up her home to so many family and friends. She volunteered often and gave food to the Free Store. She also enjoyed having bake sales to benefit others.
Iva also was good at craft projects and enjoyed dong crafts for herself as well as giving to others. She also enjoyed going to Yard Sales, redecorating and painting. But above all, Iva enjoyed being with her grandchildren. They made her eyes light up and her heart full.
Iva was an amazing mother and grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
