Jack Austin Butler (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Jack was preceded in passing by his parents; one daughter, Kelly Hermes; and one granddaughter, Andie Butler. He is survived by one son, Steve and wife Nantha Butler; one brother, James Butler; one sister, Linda Sue Gonnerman; five grandchildren, Austin and wife Danielle Hermes, Dakota and wife Jacy Hermes, Stevie King, Ethan Butler and Ashton Butler; and one son-in-law, Mark Hermes. He also leaves behind a host of many friends and other family members who will all truly miss him.
Jack was born in Waco, Texas but at an early age moved to Dixon, Missouri where he later graduated from Dixon High School. Shortly after graduation, Jack enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served for four years. While stationed in San Diego, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Blaylock on April 24, 1954. Together they loved to travel and dance.
After his honorable discharge from the service, Jack became a produce manager at a grocery store called Piggly Wiggly. He then attended welding school in Ohio to later become an iron worker for the union and later superintendent for Prescott Construction. As a side job he started Economy Sewer and would later sell that business to his son in 1992.Jack was a brilliant man who could accomplish, build or create anything he set his mind to. Jack and Phyllis were very devoted to their faith and were devoted members to their church, Riverview Baptist.
We celebrate Jack’s life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
