Jack Anthony Garcia (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Jack Garcia, 94, of Camdenton, Missouri, died February 20, 2016 at home. Jack was born March 7, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois, son of Anthony & Irene (Balocca) Garcia. He graduated from High School in Chicago and later from, Devry Institute in Kansas City, Missouri.
Jack answered the Call to Duty to his Country on Pearl Harbor Day starting WWII. He served in the Army Air Force and was discharged as a Tech Sergeant. Returning to Chicago, he worked various jobs. After being married 2 years, they relocated to Kansas, where they bought a farm to operate. About 1953 they moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he was a Master Tool & Die Maker for General Motors and for Redman Mfg.
They retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1983 and he taught Industrial Arts several years at Camdenton High School. Jack was a Life Member of Knights of Columbus, and had been an active American Legionnaire in Kansas City. He loved boating, skiing, and teaching anyone wanting to learn how; he loved to read and do word puzzles, but most of all, time with family (especially children), and friends.
Jack married Irene Lydia Kloepper at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Chicago, on August 30, 1947. She survives. Other survivors include daughter Toni (Jan) Lippincott, of Topeka, Kansas, and 3 sons, Richard (Paula of Lincoln, Nebraska, Robert of Fairway, Kansas, and Mark Garcia-Anderson of Fulton Missouri. He was predeceased by his parents, by his youngest son, John Garcia, and his brother, Raymond Garcia.
A Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25th at St Anthony Catholic Church.
Burial with military honors will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Feb 26th in Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster, Kansas.
