Jack E. Williams (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jack Eugene Williams, son of Carroll and Pauline Lusk Williams, was born December 3, 1936, in Tulare, California. He departed this life Thursday, December 5, 2013, in the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, and two days.
On July 10, 1973, he was united in marriage to Thelma P. Wilson Dampier, and they shared the last forty years.
His parents preceded him in death.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Thelma, of the home; a daughter, Terry Stroup, and her husband, John, of Lebanon, Missouri; four sons, Darrell Williams, of Overland Park, Kansas, Billy Dampier, of Lebanon, Missouri, Gregory Scott Dampier, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Lance Wilson, and his wife, Ruby, of Lebanon, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, J. C. Williams, and Jerry Williams, both of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Buffalo, Missouri area, and attended school there. As a young man he moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and soon entered the military. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during the 1960’s. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he returned to Lebanon, and began working as a truck driver. Once he and Thelma were married, they made their home in Lebanon, and lovingly raised their family.
Jack had made his profession of faith in Christ and had established his own personal relationship with his Lord and Savior.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and hunting. He also liked playing pool and enjoyed smoking. His family was very important to him and he tried to instill in his children the principles of right and wrong. He especially enjoyed having time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
