Jackie Blankenship's Obituary
Jackie Dale Blankenship, son of Floyd D. and Janice I. (Gibson) Blankenship, was born December 29, 1958, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, September 13, 2009, in his home in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of fifty-years, eight months, and fourteen days. On June 30, 1979, he was united in marriage to Loretta Ann Tucker and to this union two sons were born. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Gladys Blankenship; his maternal grandparents, Chester and Mildred Gibson; his uncle and aunt, Johnnie and Loretta Blankenship; and a cousin, Bobby Blankenship. Jackie is survived by his loving wife, Loretta, of the home; two sons, Bruce Blankenship, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Ricky Blankenship, of the home; his parents, Floyd and Janice Blankenship, of Seymour, Missouri; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bruce and Ann Tucker, of Springfield, Missouri; a brother, Charles Blankenship, and his wife, Lori, of Rogersville, Missouri; a sister, Karen Hoagland, and her husband, Danny, of Seymour, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Bruce Ray Tucker, and his wife, Kathryn, of Oxford, Alabama; two nieces, Rachel Hoagland, and Sara Tucker; a nephew, Cody Blankenship; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. He was a lifelong resident of Seymour, where he graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1977. He had worked at Camperville in Rogersville, Missouri, and was currently employed at Hutchens Steel Processors in Seymour as a Production Supervisor in the Finish Department. Jackie had made his profession of faith in Christ and attended the United Methodist Church in Seymour. He was a member of Hazelwood Masonic Lodge #459 AF and AM and served as North Ward Alderman on the Seymour City Council for over twenty years. He devoted his life to his family, friends, and serving his community. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, gardening, woodworking and babying his ’61 Chevy pickup. Jackie was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, a loyal civic leader to the citizens of Seymour, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 1:30pm Thursday September 17, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Seymour. Burial will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday evening 6-8:00pm in the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Seymour, Missouri.
