Jackie Finley (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jackie Lee Finley was born January 16, 1945 in Lebanon, Missouri to Russell W. and Jackie McNiel Shelby. She passed away peacefully in her Falcon home Thursday, April 24, 2025. She was eighty years, three months and eight days of age.
Jackie spent most of her life in Laclede County, Missouri and was a graduate of Plato High School. In December of 1962, she was united in marriage to her true love and best friend, Jack Benny Finley. They enjoyed many wonderful years together before he passed away on June 15, 2015.
In addition to her husband, Jack, Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Jackie Shelby; her daughter, Beverly; an infant son; her sister, Patsy; and her daughter-in-law, Tammy.
She is survived by her son, Donny Finley of Falcon, Missouri; her daughter, Linda (Fullington) LaRue and her husband Wayne of Falcon, Missouri; her son-in-law Bruce Ducker; seven grandchildren, Ritchie, Patrick, William, Jonathan, Shelby, Michael, and Treva; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Jackie worked at several locations in Lebanon, including H.D. Lee, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, she drove a bus for Plato School district for eight years and finished her career at the Durham Company.
She also worked at the store in Competition, Missouri for ten years and enjoyed meeting people and making many friends. She loved working at the store and visiting with the customers.
Jackie was a longtime member of Mt. Carney Church. She loved God and enjoyed her church family.
In her spare time, Jackie was a gifted seamstress and was pleased to give away many of the items she made. She also enjoyed quilting, canning, and doing embroidery.
Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought her so much joy and laughter and she was excited to watch them grow and develop their own personalities.
Jackie was known for her kindness and generosity. She was hardworking and always supportive of her family and loved ones. Jackie enjoyed hosting wonderful family get-togethers and holiday celebrations. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and know that her family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories she made for them.
Service for Jackie Lee Finley will be Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Carney Church in Falcon. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 29 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Carney Cemetery.
A memorial to Mt. Carney Cemetery has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
