"Jackie" Rowe Haynes (Seymour)'s Obituary
Early Tuesday morning, October 2, 2012, Jack Oaklee Haynes departed this world surrounded by her loving family in her Seymour home, at the age of eighty-nine years, two months and
twenty-four days. Daughter of James Jefferson Rowe and Daisy May (Taylor) Rowe, Jack was born July 8, 1923, in Haleyville, Alabama.
Raised in the Haleyville and Raglan area of Alabama, Jack embraced her southern roots and was a true “Southern Belle” She met the love of her life, Troy Wright Haynes in 1940. On October 16, 1941 she married Troy and to this union was born two sons. Immediately following their marriage Troy left to serve his country in the United States Army during WWII. Jack worked to build airplanes during the war effort. There they lovingly raised their son Horace in southern Alabama.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-nine years, Troy Haynes; her infant son Troy Rowe Haynes; two brothers and two sisters.
Jack is survived by her son Horace Haynes and wife Susie of Seymour, Missouri; her grandchildren Derek Haynes and wife Amanda of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Charity Haynes of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jennifer Jenkins of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; her great-grandchildren Taylor and Troy Haynes of Bonners Ferry, Idaho and Keegan Krol of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; her devoted friend Michele Duckworth; several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other dear family and friends.
In 1984, the family moved to Seymour. Troy and Jack were devoted to each other and their son. Jack instilled in Horace a strong work ethic at an early age and was proud of the man he became. She was a former member of the Seymour Chapter 144 Order of the Eastern Star where she made many lifelong friends. Also a member of the First Baptist Church in Seymour, Jack humbly served her Lord Jesus by caring for her family.
She enjoyed life and was persistent in her beliefs. Jack was a wonderful seamstress and loved to remake forgotten items into new creations. She was a talented dancer and liked traveling with her friends. She delighted in time with her family, from fishing with her boys to helping in the shop. She was proud of her heritage and passed on a rich legacy of unconditional love to her family and friends.
A genteel woman, devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and a caring neighbor and friend, Jack Oaklee Haynes leaves cherished memories for those she loved. We celebrate her life and accomplishments, and hold dearly to the hope that one day we will meet again.
