Jackie Eugene Hunter (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jackie Eugene Hunter, son of Jack G. and Nancy C. Keeling Hunter, was born August 5, 1958, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, April 29, 2016, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-seven years, nine months, and twenty-four days.
On November 1, 2008, he was united in marriage to Tammy Pauline McGonigal, and they shared the last seven years.
He was preceded in death by his mother; a son, Forrester Kingsly Hunter; and two sisters, Beverly DiGangi, and an infant, Marilyn.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Tammy, of the home; his father, Jack G. Hunter, of Strafford, Missouri; a step-daughter, Jolina Benoit, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; a step-granddaughter, Rebecca Ellen, of the State of Louisiana; a sister, Gale Sandoval, of Springfield, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri, and graduated from Parkview High School. He earned his Associates Degree in Arizona, where he worked for the Department of Conservation and enjoyed being involved with wildlife, such as catching snakes and tagging bats. He then moved to the State of Washington for a few years before returning to Springfield in 1999. Jackie had been employed by the Loren Cook Company in Springfield until becoming disabled.
Jackie had attended church throughout the years.
He had assisted in the care of his parents for the last few years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and watching football, particularly the Denver Broncos. His family was very important to him and enjoyed spending time with them.
Jackie was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
