Jackie Lasiter-Custer (Hartville)'s Obituary
Jacqualine Irene Lasiter-Custer, daughter of Jack and Doris (Todd) Lasiter was born January 1, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas. She departed this life on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in her home near Grovespring, Missouri, at the age of sixty-two years and four months.
On July 11, 1996, Jacque, as she was known to her family and friends, was united in marriage to Steven L. Custer.
She is preceded in death by her father Jack Lasiter; her sister Marsha Turner; and her daughter Jacqualine Garst.
Mimi is survived by her husband Steve of the home; her daughters Becki Lansdown and husband Mike of Hartville, Missouri, Vickie Ussery of Hartville, Missouri, Stacie Ayala of the state of Kansas, Tracie Lee and husband Shawn of the state of Kansas and her son Steven Custer, II also of the state of Kansas; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way; her mother Doris Smalley of Hartville, Missouri; her sisters Donna Worshan and Connie Hanrahan both of Hartville, Missouri ; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other dear family and friends.
Mimi grew up in the Ozarks, returning to the Kansas City area to attain her nursing degree. She was a registered nurse for Providence Hospital for over twenty years. After Steven’s retirement the couple moved to the Grovespring area. She was an avid reader and loved to surround herself with beautiful flowers from her garden. Jacque was proud of her family and loved being “Mimi”.
She was an active member of the Little Creek Baptist Church where she faithfully served her Lord. Mimi lived her faith by caring for others and by giving unconditional love to many. Her tender heart and healing touch gave a true testament of the God she loved.
Jacque Lasiter-Custer, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, a caring neighbor and friend was loved by many. Mimi leaves behind a legacy of love and caring that touch many lives. We celebrate her life and accomplishment and will hold on to the treasured memories she left for those she loved.
Memorial contributions to Wright County Children's Home, Newborns in Need, or American Diabetes Association, may be made through Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Hartville.
