Jackie Dale Stevens (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Jack Stevens was born on March 15, 1935 in Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin. His parents are the late Amelia Clarice (Roseth) Stevens and the late Edward Carl Stevens.
Jack graduated from Ft. Atkinson High School in 1953 and the fall of that year entered the United States Air Force where he served for four years.
In the spring of 1958, in Kansas City, MO he was united in marriage to Cora Jane Smith. They moved to Bolivar where Jack attended Southwest Baptist College, transferred to Southwest Missouri State University where he graduated with his BS degree in 1962.
Jack was in business with the late R.E. "Johnnie" Westfall in the 1960's and in 1968 he was hired as the Registrar at Southwest Baptist College. He held this position until he retired in 1997.
Jack was saved in 1958 and joined First Baptist Church, Bolivar where he is still a member.
Jack is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, two sons, Byron and wife Sylvia, Jay and wife Paige, two daughters, Rhonda Pitts and husband Mike and Brenda Murders and husband Robert, 8 grandchildren Morgan and husband Ty DeClue, Josh and wife Jenn Stevens, EmaLee and husband Chris Lockhart, Haden and wife Mariah Stevens, J.D. and Avery Murders, and Jack and Brock Pitts, two great grandchildren Lakota Lockhart and Graham Stevens. Jack is also survived by two sisters, Marjorie Swingen of Springfield, MO and Lois Cummins of Fon Du Lac, Wisconsin.
