Jackie Ray Ward (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jackie Ray Ward was born March 14, 1946 in Wright County, Missouri to Bland and Mayme Williams Ward. He departed this life Saturday, April 12, 2025 in his home in Phillipsburg, Missouri. He was seventy-nine years and twenty-nine days of age.
Jack, as he was known by family and friends, grew up in the Competition community and graduated from Hartville High School. He established his career at Justice Furniture Company where he was employed for over forty years. His friends he made there were like family to him. He was liked by everyone and was a real people person.
On July 3, 1999 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Fay Lillard. They celebrated twenty-five years together of wonderful memories.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Bland and Mayme Ward; his sisters, Virginia Devore, Dottie Barker, Norma Rogers and Geneva Knapp; and two brothers, Verbal and Lester Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ward of the home; his son Aaron Ward and his wife Sandi of Lebanon, Missouri; his daughter, Marsha Doss and her husband John of Lebanon, Missouri; two step-daughters, Pamela Humphrey of Lebanon, Missouri and Marilyn Young of Lamar, Missouri; his sister, Mary Rogers of Buffalo, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
Jack found joy in fishing and hunting, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and the tranquility it offered. He also liked traveling and loved racing of all kinds.
Most of all, Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, delighting in their daily lives and accomplishments. He lived a good life and will be dearly missed.
