Wade was born in Hartville and moved to Kansas City for a brief period of time and worked in a semi truck repair shop. He moved back to Hartville and at the age of thirteen started working in the car business for Lester Crisp. He later started his own shop, “Wade’s Auto Sales,” where he worked at rebuilding and selling automobiles. Wade owned and operated his business until his passing. He also served as a Wright County Deputy Sheriff for many years.
His family was his main priority in his life. Wade worked hard to provide for his family, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. His pet poodle, “Toodles,” was very special to him. Wade shared a special bond with his nephew, Benny Harrison, and enjoyed having coffee with Benny and his family every Saturday morning. His sister Ruby and her husband Charlie always stopped for visits, and Charlie had made Wade many cars and yard ornaments out of wood.
In his spare time, “George” enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, watching westerns, playing cards and his juice harp, and listening to and collecting country music albums.
Wade was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
