Jacqueline M. Day (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Jacqueline Marie Day, daughter of Louis and Thecla Nuttmann Misplay, was born June 30, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, February 10, 2015, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, seven months, and ten days.
On August 21, 1993, in Eureka, Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to Paul Dean Day, and they shared the last twenty-one years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Johnny and Gerald Misplay; and two sisters, Corinne Blackston and Dorothy Jackson.
Jackie, as she was lovingly called by her family and friends, is survived by her husband, Paul, of the home; a daughter, Lisa Watkins, of Lebanon, Missouri; a step-daughter, Carolyn Boyd, of Belvedere, Illinois; two step-sons, Paul D. “Doug” Day, and his wife, Dawn, of Conway, Missouri, and Darren Day, and his wife, Sherri, of Springfield, Missouri; eight step-grandchildren, Bailey, Madison, Briane, Noralea, Jodi, Heather, Jimmy, and Deidre; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and Springfield, Illinois. She graduated from Feitschans High School in Springfield, Illinois, in the Class of 1957. She then made her home in Wisconsin for many years before moving to Lebanon, Missouri in 1976. Jackie was a devoted homemaker to her family, and also worked as an executive secretary for All Star Gas Company in Lebanon.
Jackie was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Lebanon, where she attended as long as her health allowed.
In her spare time she enjoyed doing craft projects, growing beautiful flowers, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed being outdoors and was particularly fond of bird watching. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her seventy-five years.
