Jame 's Obituary
James Junior Hanger, son of James J. and Katie (Poston) Hanger, was born January 26, 1930, in Ellsinore, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, August 19, 2008, in Rocky Ridge Manor, in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, six months and twenty-three days. On December 22, 1950, he was united in marriage to Sarah Swift and to this union two sons and three daughters were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Jim, Jared, Jobe and Jay Hanger; and four sisters, Jewel Pyatt, June Duncan, Jessie Chilton, and Julie Allmon. James is survived by his loving wife, Sarah, of the home; two sons, Gary Hanger, and his wife, Patty, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Donald Hanger, and his wife, Carol, of Mansfield, Missouri; three daughters, Kay Turvold, and her husband, Lee, of Marshfield, Missouri, Carol Lucas, and her husband, Jerry, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and JoAnn Dye, and her husband, David, of Ava, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jean Allmon, of Hartville, Missouri, Joann Brame, of Ellsinore, Missouri, and Janie Rook, of Salem, Oregon; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. He was born and raised in Ellsinore and moved to his farm between Mansfield and Seymour in 1959. Besides working on the farm, he also owned and operated a saw mill. James had made his profession of faith in Christ at an early age. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday August 22, 2008 at the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Mansfield. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8:00 pm under the direction of the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Mansfield, Missouri. Return to top
