James A "Jim" Carpenter (Seymour)'s Obituary
James Arthur “Jim” Carpenter, son of Paul and Jean Welch Carpenter, was born October 26, 1953 in Mansfield, Missouri and departed this life on December 9, 2017 in his home near Seymour, Missouri at the age of sixty-four years, one month and thirteen days.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; daughter, Holly Stearns of Lawton, Oklahoma; two sons, Damon Carpenter and wife, Perry of Springfield, Missouri and Jason Carpenter and Jane Dessing of Oakland, California; step-son, Del Ayers and wife, Shawna of Republic, Missouri; four grandchildren, Zoe Stearns, Corbin Stearns, Elizabeth Ayers and Lacey Gates; his parents, Paul and Jean Carpenter of Seymour, Missouri; two brothers, David Carpenter and wife, Mary, and Tom Carpenter, all of Seymour, Missouri; one uncle Lyle Carpenter and wife Glenda of Des Moines, IA; five aunts Darlene Loring and husband Stan of Springfield, Missouri, Neva Schroder and husband Bill of the state of Texas, Evelyn Whitehurst and Carol Singer both of Marshfield, Missouri, Shirley Huffman of Springfield, Missouri as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and many, many friends.
Jim lived entire life in Seymour and was a graduate of Seymour High School in the Class of 1971. He started working for Se-Ma-No Electric at age 19 as a ground man and worked his way to general manager for the last twelve years. In total, he had worked for 45 years for Se-Ma-No Electric, and was planning on retiring in 2018.
Jim had made a profession of faith in Christ at a young age and has been a member of Seymour First Baptist Church most of his life.
He was a member of Hazelwood and Mtn. Grove Masonic Lodges, Eastern Star, York Rite and Scottish Rite.
In his spare time, he loved to golf and fish.
Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments will always remember the special times we had together.
In lieu of plants and flowers, memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home, to SAVE THE OWEN THEATRE.
