James Riley Andrews (Buffalo)'s Obituary
James Riley Andrews, son of the late Arthur and Alma (Wilkinson) Andrews, was born on July 24, 1934 in Buffalo, MO and departed this life on December 19, 2021 at his home near Buffalo, MO. At the time of his passing he was 87 years, four months, and 24 days of age.
James was raised and attended school in Dallas County. He served his country in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. After his service, James got his degree and spent his career as a teacher and counselor for Dallas County Schools. He was united in marriage to Mary Nell Hagan on May 27, 1956, and to this union three sons were born, all of whom survive him.
James was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Albert, John, and Bill Andrews; and three sisters, Verda Meldrum, Willyne Johnson, and Bertha Lightle. He is survived by his wife Mary of the home; three sons, James Christopher Andrews, Clyde Michael Andrews, and David and wife Julie Andrews; and two granddaughters, Madison and Marlee, who were the light of his life. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Autry officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Alliance of Mental Health.
