James Appleberry's Obituary
James Lee Appleberry, son of Lloyd Dean and Phyllis Anne Gilbert Appleberry, was born May 1, 1960, in Oakland, California. He departed this life Wednesday, January 20, 2010, in his daughter’s home, near Falcon, Missouri, at the age of forty-nine years, eight months, and nineteen days. On May 23, 1980, he was united in marriage to Christina Sue Wenitschka, and to this union five daughters and one son were born. He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Patricia Louise Gelina. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Christina, of the home; a son, James Dean Appleberry, of Richland, Missouri; five daughters, Becky Teubner, and her husband, Jerry, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Mary Appleberry, of Falcon, Missouri, Heather Appleberry, of Richland, Missouri, Stephanie Tidwell, and her husband, Andrew, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Shannon Ruble, and her husband, Toby, of Lebanon, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; his mother, Phyllis Appleberry, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; three brothers, Steve Appleberry, Jay Appleberry, both of Lebanon, Missouri, and David Appleberry, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born in California and then moved with his family to Lebanon when he was one year old. He lived most of his life in the Lebanon area, where he and Christina lovingly raised their family. He worked in the construction business as a drywall specialist and framer and through the years had helped build many of the theaters in Branson, Missouri, and several of the larger churches in Springfield, Missouri. He was a skilled and excellent craftsman and was very good at his trade. Jimmy had made his profession of faith in Christ and had attended Community Baptist Church. He had been a member of a local construction workers union. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing, hunting, and anything you can do in or around water. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them throughout the years. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday January 22, 2010 at the Community Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Lonesome Hill Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday evening 7-8:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri.
