James Bales (Bolivar)'s Obituary
This day we share in the memories of Jim, a man of faith in God, family, and community.
Jim was raised by loving parents, Lincoln Wilber and Clara Margaret Bales. Being one of nine siblings, he built his life’s path on God, family, and a strong work ethic with compassion for others. This he shared in life with all who knew him.
On December 24, 1949, he married the love of his life, Patsy Joan Bales. Together they shared 70 wonderful years of love.
It took some time, but he was able to fulfill his dream of becoming a firefighter. Jim soon became Captain and a leader of men.
When he retired, Jim and Patsy came to live in the small community of Pittsburgh, Missouri. There they were blessed with long lasting friendships and the ability to serve in various ways at the Antioch Christian Church.
Jim truly believed and trusted in many verses of the Bible. One of his favorites was Psalm 62:1, “My soul finds rest in God alone.”
Jim has left behind the legacy of faith in God, family and community to their four daughters, seven grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
So, we bring James home to lay beside his beloved wife Patsy, where they shared so many years of blessings.
