James "Dave" Becker (Lebanon)'s Obituary
James David "Dave" Becker, son of Clyde R. and Verna Harget Becker, was born January 28, 1956, in Richland, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, June 11, 2020, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years, four months, and fourteen days.
On December 21, 1996, he was united in marriage to Mary Beth Knapp, and they shared the last twenty-four years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Donna Piercy.
Dave is survived by his wife, Mary Beth, of the home; two daughters, Christy Hoy, and her husband, Tim, of Stoutland, Missouri, and Janet Miller, and her husband, Richard, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Travis Clark, and his husband, Jared, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Clayton, Bree, Timothy “Peanut”, Kaileb, Parker and Stella; five brothers, Larry Becker, Tommy Becker, Mike Becker, Terry Becker, and Rex Becker, all of Richland, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Lois Knapp, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Richland area and attended Richland Schools. He began working for Playcraft and then was at Tracker Marine for thirty years. He later worked part time for Tracker and also was a cook at Slim Chickens for a time.
Dave had made his profession of faith in Christ and followed Rev. Bob Knapp’s ministry through the years. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Richland, Missouri.
He enjoyed bowling and was a member of a league for many years and once scored a perfect 300 game. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed having time with his grandchildren.
Dave was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
A memorial has been established to Wounded Warriors.
