James F. Bolin (Hartville)'s Obituary
James Fred Bolin, Jr., son of James Fred and Leora McChristian Bolin, was born December 28, 1932 in Fort Worth, Texas. He departed this life Monday, September 16, 2013 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center, Mountain Grove, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, eight months, and nineteen days.
On February 11, 1954, James was united in marriage to Josephine Marie Cara, and to this union five children were born.
His parents preceded him in death as well as a grandson, Garrett Allan Bolin.
James is survived by his wife, Jo, of the home; children, Vicki Mooney and husband Thomas of Norwood, Missouri, James M. Bolin of Orange, California, Darrell K. Bolin of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Leora Spires and husband Gary of Joshua Tree, California, and Grady Bolin and wife Tina, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; grandchildren, Thomas Mooney, Dawn Simmonds, James Bolin, Jeremy Bolin, Darrell Bolin, Jr., Vann Bolin, April Bolin, Amber Bolin, Garrett Bolin, and Gavin Bolin; great-grandchildren, Thomas Mooney, Loran Mooney, Andrew Simmonds, Asia Bolin, and Aubrey Bolin; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
James spent his younger years living in the Fort Worth area. Following his graduation from high school, he entered into the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Korean War. After he was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, James made his home in California, where he attended Mechanics School. It was in California where he met the love of his life, Jo. He worked as a Millwright Mechanic for Kaiser Steel for twenty-one years.
He moved to Missouri in 1987 and opened his auto mechanic shop, Jims Automotive in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He worked as a mechanic until his health forced him to retire.
James had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Mansfield Assembly of God.
In his younger years, James enjoyed raising bird dogs, tending his horses and beef cattle, hunting and working on his farm.
James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
