James Burgess (Lebanon)'s Obituary
James Ozark Burgess was born August 18, 1931 in Stoutland, MO to Aubrey and Lois Wood Burgess. He departed this life Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO at the age of 91 years, nine months, and thirty days.
James spent much of his adult life in the Kansas City area. He worked several years as a mechanic and then at a dairy plant, and then spent the bulk of his career at Miller-Aldrich Chemical Company. Upon retirement, James moved to the Conway area.
James was an avid Bluegrass fan, and felt very fortunate to live so near the Starvy Creek Festival. He was also a fan of Cardinals baseball and the Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed activities that he could share with his family and loved to spend time with them, especially outdoors.
James was a member of Twilight Church and made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ at a young age. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a shining example of a faithful husband, father, and friend. James will be dearly missed.
James is survived by his daughters; Jackie Burgess of Independence, MO and Vickie Krider of Independence, MO, one brother; Don Burgess of Winchester, KY, two grandchildren; Sherry Boggs and her husband Josh, and Matthew Krider, and three great-grandchildren; Micah, Peyton, and Kynleigh.
James is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joe Burgess; and his loving wife of sixty two years, Wanda Louise Scott.
