James Roy Carter Sr. (Lebanon)'s Obituary
James Roy Carter, son of Roy Junior and Dorothy Mae Shadday Carter, was born April 15, 1955, in Silverton, Oregon. He departed this life Saturday, August 18, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-seven years, four months, and three days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Billy Wayne Carter; and a sister, Betty Browning.
James is survived by four daughters, Melissa Carter, of the State of Texas, Patricia Amen, of Keota, Oklahoma, Chrystal Sebo, and her husband, David, of Shady Point, Oklahoma, and Angel Carter, of Lebanon, Missouri; four sons, Jimmy Ray Carter, of Prescott, Arizona, James Carter, Jr., and his wife, Kalita, of Lebanon, Missouri, Jason Carter, and his wife, Jessica, of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Billy Carter, and his wife, Diana, of Taneyville, Missouri; twenty-nine grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Prentice, of Litchfield, Kentucky, and JoAnn Gibson, of Taneyville, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in Phoenix, Arizona, where he graduated from high school. He then made his home in various places while traveling and working as a handyman throughout the years. In 2000, he made his home in Lebanon, Missouri.
In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and pitching horseshoes. He also liked to do automobile repair work. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed having time with his children and grandchildren.
James was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
