James Arthur Coleman (Lebanon)'s Obituary
James Arthur Coleman was born May 2, 1954, in Jersey City, New Jersey, and departed this life Friday, April 25, 2014, from injuries received in an automobile accident on Highway 64, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-nine years, eleven months, and twenty-three days.
His parents preceded him in death.
James is survived by his wife, Judy Coleman, of the State of California; two brothers; a sister; a special friend, Kathy Chandler, and her family, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in New Jersey, and then enlisted in the military as a young man. He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy from 1972 until 1978, during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he made his home in San Diego, California for a time before moving to Georgia. He was a free spirit and loved to travel. For the last few years, he had made his home in Missouri.
James was a member of Community Baptist Church in Lebanon, and was active in their Overcomers Program. He was a prominent member of the Overcomers and had received many awards for his participation. James had overcome both drugs and alcohol problems in the last several years.
He greatly enjoyed sports and enjoyed bowling in his spare time. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Team and the San Diego Chargers Football Team. Throughout the years, James had bore his afflictions as best he could.
James will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Memorials may be made to the Overcomers Program, and left at the funeral home.
