James "Jim" Cunnyngham (Bolivar)'s Obituary
James William “Jim” Cunnyngham, 83 of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Jim was born February 17, 1940, in Bolivar, Missouri to William Harlan and Bethany Faith (Goodwin) Cunnyngham. Jim was married to Jeanie Cunnyngham and they had spent the better part of 22 years together.
Jim graduated from Bolivar High School and attended SBU. Later he attended barber school and began working in real estate. Jim spent most of his career in real estate, retiring from Century 21. Jim was saved and baptized at an early age and was a member of the Northside Christian Church. He became a member of the American Legion Post 138 after serving in the Army Reserves.
Jim enjoyed golf and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. He also loved mowing, remodeling the old farmhouse, and enjoyed old model cars.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Bethany Cunnyngham; his sister, Jean Ann Tillery; brother-in-law, Larry Tillery; and his aunt Helen Breshears.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanie Cunnyngham; his sons, Shawn (Vicki) Cunnyngham, Thad (Heather) Cunnyngham, and Kyle Cunnyngham; his daughters, Deidre (Anthony) Berberich; step-children, Glen (Carol) Bookhout, Tina Payne, Rodney Delmont, and Jacque (Brad) Williams; his grandchildren, Rachel, Delany, Bradyn, Brycen, Ryan, Nicole, Jimmy, Nicci, Brandon, Marrah, Taylor, Jackson, Blake, Madison, John, Maggie, Olivia, and Jessica; his 14 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; Jim and Jeanie also had 41 foster girls as foster parents for 12 years.
A memorial has been established in memory of Jim. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the St. Jude's Hospital.
