James Dibbens' Obituary
James Lee Dibbens, son of Willie and Nellie Huntley Dibbens, was born November 6, 1931, near Long Lane, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, July 17, 2007, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, eight months, and eleven days. He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandmother, Ollie Huntley; and several aunts and uncles. James is survived by a number of cousins. He was born near Long Lane, Missouri, and while he was a young child his parents both passed away. He was raised by his maternal grandmother, Ollie Huntley, near Bennett Spring, Missouri. James was mentally handicapped and at that time no training or teaching was available. He and his grandmother lived a happy and simple life, and he was sheltered in her love. He loved wandering in the woods and enjoyed spending many happy hours there. When his grandmother could no longer care for him, he made his home in various places before coming back to Lebanon. Throughout his life, he was loved by his aunts and uncles who helped with his needs. He greatly enjoyed looking at magazines and newspapers and loved receiving any kind of mail. James will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Four Mile Cemetery, near Long Lane, Missouri. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
