James Ferrell (Buffalo)'s Obituary
James Ellis Ferrell, 90, was born March 9, 1933, in Tunas, Missouri, the son of John Thomas Ferrell and Blanche (Tucker) Ferrell. He passed away on May 24, 2023, at his home, with his family by his side.
He was united in marriage with Gladys Marie Palmer on July 22, 1955, in Macks Creek.
He was saved at an early age at the church camp at Bennett Spring.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; parents; half-brother Ralph; sister and brother-in-law Hildreth and Harry Cain; and son-in-law, Ernie Hall.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Hall; his son, Carl Ferrell (partner Cindy Elliott); three grandsons: Jason Hall, Brandon Ferrell (Ben) and Nick Ferrell (Karlie); nephews and niece, and other family members and friends.
He served in the U.S. Army for 2 years, followed by 25 years in the Army Reserve. Once he returned from the Army, he worked 33 years as a Case Analyst for the Missouri Department of Family Services. He was also very civic minded, serving on local Fire Departments, including 52 years of service to the Buffalo Rural Fire Department, and for the past 19 years he served on the Buffalo City Council.
Services will be held Friday, June 2, 2023, with the funeral starting at 2 pm. Pastor Richard Willis officiating. A time of visitation will begin at 1 pm until service time. Following the funeral service, James E. Ferrell will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, Missouri. The Buffalo Rural Fire Department will serve as escorts.
