James "Jim" Figg (Buffalo)'s Obituary
James “Jim” Richard Figg, age 73, of Pittsburg, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at his home with his family by his side.
Jim was born on February 2, 1951, in Hale, Missouri, to the late Richard “Dick” and Marion Jean (Searcy) Figg. Jim was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jonnie Leuthen, on October 16, 2009.
Jim was a very active man, always keeping busy. He enjoyed bass and crappie fishing, competing in numerous tournaments, he loved to play pool, he was a member of a bowling league, bowling at least three nights a week in the winter months. Spring and summertime brought Jim to many golf courses, playing many times throughout the week. He was the founder of Play Fore Pink, a charity golf tournament to benefit the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center in honor of Jonnie. Jims’s philanthropy did not stop there. He was also a member of the Masons, Masonic Lodge #375 A.F. and A.M., and was a dedicated Shriner.
Jim was preceded by his parents, one brother, Gene Figg, beloved wife Jonnie Figg, and son Brandon Figg. He is survived by his two children, Melissa Figg, and Lucas Figg and wife Kelly, six grandchildren, Collin, Philip, Sheldon, Julia, Jacob and Emma, one brother Gail Figg, and numerous extended family members and beloved friends.
Jim’s legacy of giving back should not stop with his passing, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be given to the Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation to help those in need in our community during their own cancer journey.
Memorial services are scheduled for 3 pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, with a time of visitation from 2-3 pm at the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo.
