James E. Finch (Bolivar)'s Obituary
James Edward Finch, age 73, of Halfway, Missouri, passed away Saturday evening, June 27, 2015 at Citizens Memorial Hospital, in Bolivar, Missouri.
Born to Edward and Esther Finch in Hartville with the family later settling in Marshfield.
James served in the Army as a helicopter mechanic. For most of his life he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad. After many years of service he was injured on the job and was forced to retire.
He married Phyllis in 1981. They lived in Marshfield and Halfway with James building homes in each town.
James was always a hard worker and enjoyed joking around and pulling the occasional prank.
James enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, baking, and gardening. He could can vegetables, sew and crochet. He was a soldier, railroad man, farmer, dog breeder, caretaker, and loved by everyone.
James was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Phyllis, a daughter Theresa Dyer and a granddaughter Haley Farmer.
He is survived by his girlfriend Missy Haley and her family, a son Darin and Maria Finch, a daughter Patricia and David Hanson, a daughter Lisa and Rodney Cobb, grandson Russell and Tara Butts, granddaughter Micala Farmer and grandsons Tyler and Tristan Finch, four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many longtime friends.
