James William Fisher (Lebanon)'s Obituary
James William Fisher, son of George William and Sarah Frances Latimer Fisher, was born September 7, 1957, in Waynesville, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, April 27, 2019, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-one years, seven months, and twenty days.
On December 22, 1979, he was united in marriage to Mary Helen Fraley, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Francis Warren Fisher; and an uncle, James Latimer.
James is survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Mary, of the home; a daughter, Amy Marie Fisher Fleming, and her husband, Sean, of Nixa, Missouri; two sons, Justin Alan Fisher, and his fiancée, Emily Alice, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Nathan Aaron Fisher, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; three grandchildren, Ian, Warren Francis, and Aaliyah Marie; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Conway and Phillipsburg area and graduated from Conway High School. He then attended College of the Ozarks and later Missouri State University where he earned his Master’s Degree in Vocational Agriculture. He also received his lifetime teaching certificate in Vocational Agriculture at that time. He remarked that the only good thing he got out of college was Mary. After he and Mary were married, they made their home in the Phillipsburg community, and James began operating a cattle farm. He also drove a mail route for several years. In 1998, he began working for the Loren Cook Company in Springfield, Missouri, where he stayed for twenty years.
James had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Conway Christian Church.
He was a member of the Laclede County Masonic Lodge #83 A.F. & A.M. of Lebanon for a number of years. In his spare time he enjoyed collecting guns, shooting practice, watching his cows, watching John Wayne movies, and listening to classical music. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed having time with his grandchildren.
James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Memorials may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Society, Breast Cancer or Colon Cancer Foundation and may be left at the Funeral Home.
