James Henson's Obituary
Rev. James E. Henson, son of John Wesley and Martha Jane Jones Henson, was born February 19, 1931, near Lebanon, in Laclede County, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, November 19, 2006, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, and nine months. On December 30, 1950, he was united in marriage to Clara “Marie” Jones, and to this union one daughter and three sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Johnny, Ray, and Paul Henson; and three sisters, Grace Dibbons, Edith Chastain, and Ruby Biggs. James is survived by his loving wife of almost fifty-six years, Marie, of the home; three sons, James W. “Jim” Henson, and his wife, Margaret, Jerry L. Henson, and his wife, Connie, and Timothy E. “Tim” Henson, and his wife, Carrie, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Deborah J. “Deb” Kincheloe, and her husband, Richard, of Lebanon, Missouri; eight grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, David A. Henson, and his wife, Gladys, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri. After he and Marie were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their family. Throughout the years, James worked as a dry wall finisher and painter. He also was a Free Will Baptist minister and had pastored the Sunnyview Church, the Gardner Church, Bailey Chapel, and the Union Mission Church in and around the Lebanon area. He was a devoted pastor and loved taking care of his church members until his retirement. James made his profession of faith in Christ early in his life and was currently a member of the Sunnyview Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors and especially liked hunting for raccoon, deer, and turkey. He also enjoyed fishing in his spare time. His family was very important to him and he particularly liked having family gatherings. James was a loving family man, a devoted pastor, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
