James Heyman (Lebanon)'s Obituary
James Franklin Heyman, Jr., son of James Franklin and Charlene Boyd Heyman, was born April 1, 1954, in Brunswick, Georgia. He departed this life Saturday, August 27, 2016, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-two years, four months, and twenty-six days.
On March 22, 1975, he married Linda Meyers, and to this union two sons were born.
On October 16, 1992, he was united in marriage to Penny Dianna Fore, and they shared the last twenty-three years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Linda, in 1992.
Jim is survived by his wife, Penny, of the home; two daughters, Donna Johnson, and her husband, James, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Candi Cater, and her husband, Jeff, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; two sons, James F. Heyman, III, and Jared Thomas Heyman, both of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Jenna, Justin, Taylor, Taydem, Elizabeth, Christopher, and Brandon; two brothers, Kenneth Heyman, of Cummings, Georgia, and Michael Heyman, of Dawsonville, Georgia; a sister, Jeannie Smith, of Dawsonville, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Georgia, and then moved to California where he graduated from Calipatria High School. In his younger years, he had been a talented boxer and had been invited to compete in the Panama Olympics. He then served his country faithfully in the United States Navy from 1974 until 1980, and was stationed in the Mediterranean for most of that time. After being honorably discharged, Jim made his home in Greenville, Mississippi, where he worked for Uncle Ben’s Rice Company for over twenty years. In 1996, he and Penny moved to Lebanon, and made their home. James was currently working as a systems engineer for Emerson Electric, formerly known as Copeland, Inc. He had also operated a heating and cooling business for a time.
He was a member of the American Legion Post # 43 in Lebanon and had belonged to the Masonic Lodge and Shriner’s organization while living in Mississippi. He enjoyed traveling and his favorite place to visit was Jamaica. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
