James "Jim" Gregory (Hartville) 's Obituary
James Dale Gregory, son of Everett Lee and Nettie Arlie Wood Gregory, was born October 6, 1943 in Hartville, Missouri. He departed this life February 27, 2015 in Harlingen Medical Center, Harlingen, Texas, at the age of seventy-one years, four months, and twenty-one days.
On March 29, 1964, Jim was united in marriage to Letah Kay Keith, and together they shared nearly fifty-one years of marriage.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Arlyene Rippee and Marie Garner; and three brothers, Donnie, Gene, and Gerald Gregory.
He is survived by his wife, Kay, of the home; one daughter, Teresa McFarland and husband Dave, of St. Louis, Missouri; one son, Michael Gregory of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Aidan McFarland, Ashley Conn and husband Randy, and Cody Gregory; one sister, Maxine Smith, of Hartville, Missouri; one brother, Jesse Gregory and wife Aleta, of Springfield, Missouri; his beloved dachshund, Patches; a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Jim was born and raised in Hartville and was a graduate of Hartville High School in the Class of 1962. He lived in Springfield for a short while before moving to Kansas City to start his career with General Motors. Jim worked as a Manufacturing Engineer for GM while in Kansas City. He later moved to Shreveport, Louisiana and retired from GM as a Maintenance Supervisor after over thirty-five years of employment. Following his retirement, Jim and Kay moved to Rogersville to make their home.
Jim had accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age.
He was a proud member of the GM Retirees of Kansas City and Springfield.
Jim and Kay travelled to Texas every winter, and he enjoyed the time spent with friends there. In his spare time, Jim liked to watch NASCAR and attended races when he could. He was an avid fan of baseball and football, and enjoyed watching games when possible. He looked forward to reading multiple newspapers daily and spending time on his computer. He loved his children and grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them.
Jim was a loving husband, father, granddad, papa, brother, and uncle. We will treasure the time spent with him and his memory will live with us forever.
