James "Jim" Earl Officer (Lebanon)'s Obituary
James “Jim” Earl Officer, age 88 of Conway, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 in his home. He was born March 10, 1934 near Conway, Missouri to Elvin Earl and Emma Opal Ikerd Officer. At the time of his death, he was eighty-eight years, nine months and nineteen days.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Douglas Earl Officer in 2018; and a brother, Jerry Dean Officer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jo Officer of their home in Conway; his daughter, Ericka Jo Officer of Kansas City, Missouri; and a grandson, James Douglas Officer of Tucson, Arizona.
Jim was born and raised in Conway, Missouri and graduated from Conway High School where he was captain of the Conway High School basketball team. He lived his whole life in the Conway and Phillipsburg, Missouri area. Following high school, he joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country.
On September 5, 1959, he married the love of his life, Mary Jo. They shared many memories over the past 63 years of their marriage. Through the good times and bad, they stood by each other with love and support.
Jim and Mary bought their farm near Conway in 1967. He was a hard worker and was known by all as a good and dedicated farmer. He loved taking care of his Charolais cattle and enjoyed being out on the farm. He also was a school bus driver for Conway School for many years. He made many friends with those at the school and enjoyed the relationships he made with the students.
Jim was a member of Phillipsburg Christian Church. He loved God and he loved his family and the farm that God had blessed him with. The legacy that Jim leaves behind will be remembered for years to come.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery with Full Military rights.
