James Calvin Kingsbury (Seymour)'s Obituary
James Calvin Kingsbury was born November 30, 1923, in Washington, D.C. He peacefully departed this life for Heaven at the long age of 97, on April 21, 2021, in Ozark Riverview Manor, in Ozark, Missouri.
After high school Jim entered the United States Navy and proudly served his country during World War II. He exited the Navy as Quartermaster Third Class having served on the destroyer minesweeper, USS Lamberton. He used his G.I. Bill to attend George Washington University where he earned a bachelor degree in foreign commerce.
In 1950, Jim married the love of his life, Pamela Ruth Baughman. Together they raised three sons and shared 64 blessed, loving, and supportive years until her passing in February 2015.
Jim had worked as a foreign trade expert for the U.S. Department of Foreign Commerce. His primary deployments were in Rockville, Maryland, Cincinnati, Ohio, and finally Saudi Arabia where he spent two years. He and Pamela retired to Fordland, Missouri, where they were ever-present and active members of Diggins Baptist Church. Jim was also quite passionate about his gardening.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his beloved Pamela, and their two newborn babies, Susan Virginia and David Lee; and his sister Patsy Webb and her husband Kenneth.
Jim leaves behind the legacy of his family; sons, Richard (Rick) Kingsbury and wife Lauri McClane who live in France, Dr. Charles (Chip) Kingsbury and wife Chari who live in Nairobi, Kenya, and Daniel (Dan) Kingsbury and wife Jill of Ozark, Missouri; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Sue Conner and husband Tim, and Ann Hawkins and husband Dorsey.
Funeral service for Mr. Kingsbury is Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 2:00 PM, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Seymour, Missouri. Burial will follow in Seymour Masonic Cemetery.
