Sandy Staples Day
Janet and family,
I did not hear of your dad's passing until this morning, at work, no less. So very sorry for you all. I loved your mom and dad dearly. James always had a smile and something witty to say. He was a wonderful, caring man, who loved his family so very much.
Your mom and dad opened their home to me, during high school, and always made me feel welcomed and loved. I was kind-of glad when it worked out (since my mom worked in Springfield, at that time) that I had to spend the night, due to ball games or parades, because we had so much fun!
I remember how your dad cringed, made faces and kidded us, the night you pierced my ears (with an ice cube and a needle)! I think he had me almost believing my ears may actually fall off!
Jame's kindness resonated throughout the community and through his job at the bank.
There are no words for how terribly sad I feel about missing his service. Know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I will forever think of your dad and remember the sweet memories of being, at their house, on so many occasions. Please let your mom know I'm thinking of her, as well. What a legacy he leaves behind.
