James Lockwood's Obituary
James Dale Lockwood, son of Dewey and Lacy Chastain Lockwood, was born October 21, 1922, near Russ, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, March 1, 2011, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years, four months, and ten days.
On August 14, 1943, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Louise Agan, and to this union two daughters and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, George W. ?Bill? and Leo Lockwood.
Dale is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Dorothy, of the home; two daughters, Beverly Jean Baker, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Becky Duckworth, of Rolla, Missouri; two sons, Mike Lockwood, and his wife, Debbie, of Springfield, Missouri, and Jim Lockwood, of Marshfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, Carey, Kelly, Cathy, Melissa, Matthew, and Brooke; four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jacob, Mason, and Emma; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Russ community by his aunt and uncle, Julia and Jody Sanders. After he and Dorothy were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their children. Throughout his life, he worked as an electrical refrigeration technician, and was employed by Mid-Am Dairy for thirty-seven years.
He enjoyed building and fixing things and working in his shop. He was very innovative in the ways that he could repair and build things. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, and liked watching western movies. He was a reserved gentleman with a very kind and caring personality. His family was always foremost in his life and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.
