James W. Lynch (Lebanon)'s Obituary
James William Lynch, son of Harry and Blanche Barrett Lynch, was born May 5, 1932, near Phillipsburg, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, May 5, 2014, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years.
In 2001, he was united in marriage to Anna Imogene Moore Lindsay, and they shared the last thirteen years.
His parents preceded him in death.
James is survived by his wife, Imogene, of the home; two sons, Larry Lynch, and James W. Lynch, Jr., both of the State of California; a daughter, Linda Workman, and her husband, Loren, of Dove Creek, Colorado; two grandchildren; five step-daughters, Darlene Thomas, and her husband, Dennis, of Lebanon, Missouri, Anna Burns, and her husband, Leon, of Climax Springs, Missouri, Linda Daniels, and her husband, Donnie, of Osawatomie, Kansas, Kathy Parker, of Kansas City, Kansas, and Cindy Bishop, and her husband, David, of Louisburg, Kansas; five step-sons, Jerry Lindsay, and his wife, Marsha, of Buffalo, Missouri, Oral Lindsay, and his wife, Carol, of Conway, Missouri, Larry Lindsay, and Delta Birdsong, of Conway, Missouri, Gary Lindsay, and his wife, Donna, of Kansas City, Kansas, and Terry Lindsay, and his wife, Patty, of Buffalo, Misssouri; a number of step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; and step-great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan, of the State of California; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Phillipsburg community, until he was fifteen. He then made his home in Texas before entering the United States Navy. He served his country faithfully in the Navy from January 14, 1953, until January 10, 1957. He then began working as a diving engineer for the Santa Fe International Corporation and worked jobs all across the world. He was a valued employee carrying out normal operation duties and maintenance on many types of drilling and piping equipment. He basically made his home base in California during his work years. Once he retired, he returned to Missouri, and made his home in the Conway area. After he and Imogene were married, they became snowbirds and wintered in Texas for the last several years.
He made his profession of faith in Christ and was baptized in 2005 at the Church of Christ, near Conway, Missouri.
He was a longtime, active member of the Moose Lodge in California and had held several offices within the club. He enjoyed anything to do with the water, but particularly scuba diving and sailing. He also liked riding his motorcycle playing on his computer. He liked playing the guitar and singing Bluegrass music.
James was a proud American and Navy veteran, and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
